3 High-Tech Flood Prevention Methods

1. The Thames Barrier
English engineers designed a movable flood barrier to stop flooding along the Thames River. The barrier is constructed from hollow steel. It has two massive arched gates that are used to generate power and control water on the Lek River. Dams such as the Hagestein Weir have become a model for cities around the world that hope to reduce the need for storm damage restoration by better controlling flooding.
